Spiritual Formation

This elective is for any student that is interested in growing in their personal relationship with God. We will study the Spiritual Disciplines (prayer, Bible reading, worship, fasting, etc, etc) and learn how they can practically incorporate these into their lives as a Jr. Higher. In addition, they’ll learn about the character of God and how He interacts with humans. AND (yes, there’s more!) they’ll study some of the basics of what we believe as Christians, and why we believe this way.

Leadership Development

This elective is taking the place of ASB (student council). It is open to any and every student that is interested in learning what it means to be a servant leader in their home, school, church, and community. Students in this class will study the character and skills needed to be an effective leader and participate in the ACSI Junior High Leadership Conference on October 27. They will also help Pastor Anna plan and facilitate various school events and chapels.

Worship Team

This class is for students who are interested in being a part of the ECS chapel worship team. They'll begin the year by studying the Biblical Theology of Worship – learning about Who we worship and why, as well as how every part of our lives can and should be offered to God as worship. The bulk of class time will be spent practicing the songs we’ll use to lead musical worship in Chapel. This class is only for students who already know how to play an instrument; music lessons will not be provided in class.
