Extended Care

 

Our staff is pleased that the Extended Care Program, Kindergarten - 12 years old, has a new home room assignment for the 2011-2012 school year; we will be meeting in ECC rooms 102 and 103. Enter the ECC main entrance to access these rooms.

 

• Before School Care (BSC) 7:00-8:30 a.m. Our staff will escort students to classrooms at 8:35 a.m.
• After-School Care (ASC) K–2 grade group will be picked up in their classrooms by our ASC staff and be taken to ECC Multi-Purpose Room for ASC each day at 3:15 p.m.
• After-School Care (ASC) 3rd grade – Age 12 group will meet our ASC staff outside the Kindergarten room A-2 to meet our staff and walk to the ECC Multi-Purpose Room each day at 3:15 p.m.; 4th graders are already in the ECC building and teachers will walk them downstairs to the Multi-Purpose Room.

The ECS Extended Care Enrollment and Payment Form available for you to pick up in the school office. Please be sure to read the bullets on the form as they detail and clarify our payment procedure and schedule for the 2011-2012 school year. Complete and return this Payment Form with your monthly payment on or before the 1st of each month; note that December 2011, April 2012, and June 2012 have reduced rates printed on the payment form reflecting the reduced number of days the school is open.

Please send a snack for your child to eat in ASC – they usually are very hungry after a busy day at school!

The ECS Extended Care Program is a state licensed school care center through the Department of Early Learning (DEL). ECS strives to provide a quality experience for your children. The following additional information is provided to you for further clarification.

The Extended Care Enrollment and Payment Form offers several programs of care: Full-time, Part-time or Drop-In. Each month, it is possible to change from one program of care to another depending upon involvement in sports, music, or other family activities. Full-time is 4-5 days a week, Part-time is 2-3 days a week or purchase a Drop-In Punch Card for occasional use. Please note that on some of the ECS early dismissal day ASC may not be offered.

 

Extended Care Sample Daily Schedule

AM	7:00-8:00	Sign-in/free play/down time
	8:00-8:20	Structured group time
	8:20-8:30	Clean up and line up
	8:35	Escort students to classrooms
PM	3:15-3:45	Sign-in/snack time
	3:45-4:45	Homework or quiet time
	4:45-6:00	Free play/group time/structured activity/outside play (weather permitting)

School begins at 8:45 a.m. School dismisses at 3:15 p.m. for all students. All children on campus before or after school hours are expected to be in direct supervision of an adult, enrolled in the Extended Care Program, or involved in the sports program or other school sponsored activity. Any unsupervised student, ages 5-12, not picked up by 3:30 p.m. (or 12:15 p.m. on early dismissal days) will be checked into the After School Care Program and the family will be charge the daily rate. Students who are 13 or older are expected to be off campus by 3:30 p.m. (or 12:15 p.m. on early dismissal days).

If there is a late start school day, classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. There is no BSC on late start school days.
